Update – 1/7/16
After watching Femme Fatales on Cinemax, I’ve been thinking a lot about Tales from the Crypt, and how awesome it was. Femme Fatales is just like Tales from the Crypt, except it’s not so much horror stories, and there are tons of hot chicks. Like the ‘beyond hot’ hostess Lilith (Tanit Phoenix), who provides the opening and closing monologue, as did the crypt keeper. It’s a great format.

And now we have news from IGN that Tales From the Crypt will be returning, but in a disappointing move (To me) they will not follow the same format as the old show. There will be ongoing stories and recurring characters throughout the season. Check out a little more from IGN below:
Fifteen years after the show originally aired on HBO, producers Gil Adler and Andrew Cosby are planning a reboot that drops the original anthology format.
“It will be an ongoing series that uses characters from the comic books in a more modern context” Cosby told Deadline. “It’s all about continually elevating the genre, for both existing fans of the source material and mainstream audiences.”
Now, by no means do I think this will ruin the show and I will watch no matter what, I’m just the type to freak out over changes to things I love.
Another thing I’m wondering after hearing this is whether or not the Crypt Keeper will be back. John Kassir has done a huge amount of voice work for cartoons and video games since his crypt days, but I’m sure he could find time to return as our gracious host.

Not a whole lot more is known at this time except that the show is going to be pitched around to cable outlets and networks, but personally I hope that they stick with something like HBO. There’s too much goodness to be had in Tales from the Crypt for it to be aired and doomed on network television. FX would also be a good fit for a show like this. As more details emerge, we will get them to you!
