If you are anything like me, you are probably losing what’s left of your sanity awaiting the return of Dexter on Showtime. September 30th is taking forever to arrive! Well, my fellow serial-killer lovers, this should help you survive:
I have speculated many times what Deb’s reaction would be to finding Dexter, however, in none of my speculations did I ever consider the way Travis was strapped down in saran wrap might trigger a very negative reaction from Deb, who was strapped down the same way by her former fiance’/Dexter’s brother Brian. I have so many questions… and yet I feel somewhat more content after seeing this. At least I know for sure that they aren’t going to blow it off, and she does officially know he has killed…well… at least once.
Dexter season 7 premieres, of course, September 30th on Showtime.

The Walking Dead has some very talented makeup effects artists. Every episode of that show has had moments that were almost too realistic and gruesome even for me, a seasoned zombie lover. Greg Nicotero, co-founder of KNB EFX, is one of the reasons I love the Walking Dead. According to FearNet, Nicotero and his KNB teammates will be sharing their delightful talent with the San Diego Comic-Con this year! Comic-Con, as I am sure you already know, is going to have “The Walking Dead Escape: San Diego” where zombie fans can be a survivor, a walker, or a spectator. KNB EFX and Nicotero are going to be providing the zombies!
I first heard about the Walking Dead Escape about a month ago, and I have been furious ever since because I will not be there! It does make for some pretty amazing daydreams, though. And now, I can add to those glorious fantasies the graphically gross flesh-biting walkers that will sure litter this obstacle course.
A Strange Addition to Season 3:
According to Left Hand Horror, Merle Dixon, Daryl’s brother, will be joining the cast in Season 3. We know that in Season 1, Merle was left handcuffed to the roof of a building, and when Rick and the group went back to get him, he was gone. Merle had cut his hand off to escape the handcuffs before he became zombie food, and cauterised the wound with a bunsen burner. Merle will possibly be joining the governor while the group gets to the prison.
The Walking Dead – The Official Magazine:
Can’t keep up with all of the Walking Dead news? Never fear, the Walking Dead magazine is here! According to FearNet, The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman calls the magazine “your one stop destination for all the news pertaining to the comic, TV show, video game, toys, games, and whatever else exists in the ever-expanding Walking Dead universe!”.
The magazine will debut on Newsstands and at specialty comic book stores on October 23rd.

The Governor:
Fans of the Walking Dead are all anxiously awaiting the premiere of the governor, played by David Morrissey. The character, in the comics, leads a survivor settlement called the Woodbury. It is a toss-up, which character fans are looking more forward to seeing in Season 3: Michonne or the Governor. Looking at Collider, Robert Kirkman said this about bringing the Governor to the small screen: “Seeing The Walking Dead come to life on AMC has been a real thrill for me, obviously, and moving into Season 3 I’m even more excited than ever because now I feel like we’re really getting to ‘the good stuff. Having The Governor in the mix is going to fundamentally change the show in all kinds of awesome and exiting ways. And David Morrissey totally rocks!”. Kirkman also says that the Governor’s character will not be watered down for television, so for fans of the comics not to worry.
The Walking Dead Video Game:
The Walking Dead has been adapted into a video game. Episode 1 of the 5-Episode series of games is already out. Episode 2 “Starved for Help” became available June 29th. According to FearNet the episodes of The Walking Dead video game are available through the Xbox live as DLC for 400 Microsoft points. For more information, visit Telltale’s Website.
Behind the Scenes:
AMC’s new video blog post has an inside look at behind-the-scenes material for The Walking Dead. Check it out:
The Walking Dead will premiere Season 3 this October. AMC will have a Season 3 preview on July 7-8th.
There is a new cast member joining the Dark Defender in Season 7! Yvonne Strahovski(Chuck) will play Hannah, a woman who helps the LAPD out with a few cold cases, according to Vulture. She will be in a handful of episodes. Supposedly, her character is somewhat suspicious, and Dexter thinks she is withholding something from them. I think this may be a chance for Dexter to get a pretty blonde in his saran wrap web. Or could she be a love interest? Will she have to fight Dexter’s sister Deb for his affection? So many possibilities!
With two seasons left for Dexter to leave its mark on fans, Showtime is really putting a lot of effort into Season 7. According to Uproxx, (BE CAREFUL-SPOILERS THERE) season 7 is supposed to operate as the first part to the series’ end. We already know that Deb knows Dexter is a killer… well… at least that he’s killed once. She walked in on that.
TVGuide has an interview with Dexter Executive Producer Sara Colleton in which she explains how Deb will react to the Season 6 finale. Dexter’s secret is out, and just Deb’s luck, it came out while she was coming to terms with being IN LOVE with him. Colleton said:
If the series-long quest for Dexter was to finally have someone who really knows him — well, be careful what you wish for because Deb now knows everything and that’s a game-changer.
In regards to Deb seeing Dexter kill Travis, TV Guide asked Colleton if Deb will learn everything this season.
Yeah. Obviously this whole season we’re going to have great fun playing with every permutation that can be played between Debra and Dexter in their relationship now that this information has come out. She was on her way to the church at the end of the last season because she had come to realize that she not only loved her foster-brother Dexter but she is in love with him. So now what does she do?
For the whole interview, check out the TVGuide website.
Frank Darabont’s new TV show adaptation for L.A.Noir is in the works, and according to The Hollywood Reporter Darabont is looking at Thomas Jane (Hung) for the role of mobster Bugsy Siegel for the TNT drama. Jane was not in the pilot for the show, as he was unavailable for filming.
Darabont has already picked up some pretty impressive cast members for L.A. Noir. In fact, some are from the Walking Dead! Former The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal(Shane in TWD) has been cast as Joe Teague, an LAPD cop. Jeffrey DeMunn and Andrew Rothenberg are also going to be a part of the show.
In addition to the Walking Dead alumni, the show will also have Simon Pegg, one of my favorites! According to Indiewire.com Pegg is noted to be a guest star on the show, implying that his role wouldn’t continue for long if the show is picked up. Pegg does already have experience with filming about law enforcement…
Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) is also said to be a part of this crime drama. Ventimiglia will be playing a WWII buddy of Bernthal’s character who returns later as a lawyer. His character will also be a “fixer” for the mob.
The image of Los Angeles that exists in the minds of many here in the effete East only occasionally coincides with the reality. We sneer at it as Lala Land or pine for its beaches and vistas and endless summers, but don’t know that it’s a city of heavy manufacturing and movie-making — as well as a city that lies under the constant threat of devastating fires. We delight in the classic L.A. crime novels of Raymond Chandler and the contemporary ones of Michael Connelly, but we have only the vaguest understanding that the crime and corruption they depict are not aberrations but essential to the city’s character.
I am very excited for this show! With Frank Darabont involved, not to mention the amazing acting talent, this could be my next favorite show!
