I think it’s safe to say that The Avengers is one of the most anticipated movies ever, with years of work and a build-up that puts others to shame. It’s not just the movie, or the actors, it’s the method behind it. The way Marvel has decided to bring this movie to the masses, through the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Every once in a great while I see a movie preview that gets me so excited that I lose sleep the week of its release. A movie that even with only a 30 second trailer, I know is going to keep my eyes glued to the screen for two hours. This week a movie is set for release that fits these characteristics, and that movie is called, Inside Out.
Sure Triple H has made quite a name for himself in the world of professional wrestling, but his accomplishments in the squared circle mean nothing in the world of professional acting. Let’s face it, most of us see a movie trailer with a professional wrestler in it and we instantly throw it into the “Do not see,” pile in our head, however for Triple H’s new movie, Inside Out, this may not be the case.
In the movie Inside Out, Triple H has teamed up with acting icon, MICHAEL RAPAPORT to bring audiences two hours of non-stop action gold! Michael Rapaport’s acting prowess has been seen time and time again in every movie he has done, so one can only imagine the honor it must be for Triple H, being chosen to star on the big screen with him. For those who have been living under a rock, or have not ever treated themselves to a film or television show with Mr. Rapaport in it, let me introduce this man to you all.
New York native Michael Rapaport has, for over 20 years, left his mark in the entertainment business, starring in both movies and television shows. With such seminal films as, The 6th Day , Deep Blue Sea , and Dr. Dolittle 2 , Michael Rappaport has shared his gift of acting with the rest of the world, all while solidifying his legacy as the world’s greatest entertainer.
In the 1990’s, fans of shows such as NYPD Blue, Friends, and ER were all treated to special appearances by the tall statured, curly-haired, acting genius. Although he made appearances on these shows, he never had a fulltime role, which was more than likely due to these shows not possessing the funding that it would take to hire on an actor of his caliber for a full season, let alone multiple seasons. He did however have a show on FOX from 2005-2007 – The War at Home, which in my opinion was one of the best television series of the last 20 years!
Now that I have introduced a man who should need no introduction, let me give you all the basic premise of, Inside Out, just to get you all a little excited for this action packed blockbuster:
AJ who is played by Triple H, has just gotten out of prison for manslaughter of a man who intended on killing his best friend Jack. While in prison, Jack (Rapaport), takes care of AJ’s wife and daughter who he never knew he had. While out of prison AJ has high hopes of leaving his old ways behind him, and starting a new life. These plans are quickly interrupted as AJ is quickly forced into a situation where he once again has to protect his best friend from another mobster, Jacks own father. Will Triple H, go into total ass whooping mode, or will he bitch out??? My guess is that we’re gonna see Triple H throw down with some sorry SOB’s.
I, for one, will be at the movies at 10 a.m. on Friday morning to see the first showing of this film, and I can’t wait. It’s about time that we saw the resurgence of good old fashion action movies, with quality acting, and I’m sure with Michael Rappaport’s guidance, we will see a great performance from Triple H as well. With how much Triple H kicks ass in the ring, and how much Michael Rapaport kicks ass at life/acting, there is no way this movie is going to let any true action movie fan down. There is no doubt that Inside Out is going to be RIGHT SIDE UP!!!
If you are unable to see the movie in theaters, have no fear the movie is set to be released on DVD in less than three weeks!
Early in June we told you about the upcoming movie The Hunger Games. At that time there wasn’t yet any footage, but last night MTV aired a teaser clip at their shitty awards show. Here it is:
I didn’t read the books, so to me this just looks like a girl running though the woods. Granted, that girl is Jennifer Lawrence (X-Men; First Class), but still not a lot going on…
Lets be honest about the first Ghost Rider movie not being very good. It failed me in almost every way. Sure Ghost Rider looked cool, but the story was weak, the villain was weak and Nic Cage was super weak. But hopefully all of that will change with the upcoming sequel that’s not a sequel called Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. Now personally, I thought this is the type of movie that could have went straight to DVD but Hollywood has other plans. Ghost Rider has a new look in this one, his skull visage still aflame but completely charred black. He looks a lot more no nonsense as he thrashes bad guys with his chains even while they’re driving and spits bullets into their faces. That sounds terrible but just watch the trailer to see:
As you can see this one seems to be a bit more violent, which is good because there isn’t anything too cuddly and nice when it comes to Ghost Rider. For me he’s like the Punisher in supernatural mode. The part at the end with him peeing fire kind of killed it for me but I’ll still be at the theater checking it out when the time comes.
I can’t tell whether I want to see this movie because it looks legitimately good, or if it’s to see if Daniel Radcliffe can have a career after his decade long stint as Harry Potter. I think he can if he just doesn’t wear glasses again. Ever. There’s not an opportunity to really see him acting in this trailer, but he sure does a good job looking horrified….not that it counts for much.
Here’s a short plot description from the Jane Goldman written script:
Young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe) leaves his son in London to settle the legal affairs of the recently deceased Alice Drablow. He discovers a series of inexplicable accidents and suicides have forced the parents of her village to barricade their children indoors, as if protecting them from an unseen foe. When Arthur stays the night all alone at the Drablow’s foreboding house, he hears the screams of a drowning child and sees decaying children listlessly wandering the marshes. He will soon discover these haunting figures share the same date of death, and the same killer.
Sounds pretty jacked up. But watch the trailer to get a real tingling down your spine:
Yeah, I hate that effin’ monkey with the maracas. He can go to hell. But this movie looks like it’s worth a watch. The movies have been saturated with a plethora of ghost/haunting movies since The Sixth Sense, and the majority have sucked it pretty hard. So let’s find out if the adaptation of Susan Hill’s 1983 novel of the same name is any good come 2012.
Attack the Block. Like Stomp the Yard? Verb the Noun!
“It’s inner city versus outer space.”
I’ve got to say I’m not sure about this one. Seeing as it is from the producers of Shaun of the Dead (which I love) and Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World (which I don’t hate) this flick could have some potential. Here’s the basic plot from IMDB:
A teen gang in South London defend their block from an alien invasion.
Sounds complicated. Here is the first of the 2 trailers.
As per usual, here is a movie of the times. Like Shaun of the Dead which was timed perfectly with at the beginning (you could argue was a catalyst toward) an entertainment zombie boom, Attack the Block is poised to ride the wave of movies that are focusing on Aliens invading, and kids coming together for the adventure (Super 8). However, the Alien invasion movies have not really been catching much steam like the zombie infestation.
People have to be on alien overload right now! Falling Skies on TNT, Cowboys and Aliens, Attack the Block, Skyline and Battle: LA are the most recent alien invasion movies to hit the screens. Out of all of those movies I truly only enjoyed Battle: LA. Attack the Block I have yet to see, but I’ve heard it is most excellent. I would say that the Darkest Hour was just another alien invasion flick but it does look to have it’s own identity in the form of the alien’s appearance.
Check out the trailer starring Emile Hirsch whom I haven’t since in a movie since the puke-fest that was Speed Racer:
Sure it’s another alien invasion flick, but the part that intrigues me is that the aliens are energy based lifeforms. How the hell do you fight something like that? It looked a little ridiculous with them having some sort of alien zapper guns, but I’m interested in seeing how humans could fight aliens that you can only see when they are around electronics.
They actually reminded me of the phantoms in Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within in terms of detecting their presence. We’ll see if the movie is at least decent come December, but I’m not holding out much hope. I think it will still be better than the oft delayed Apollo 18.
If there were any doubts tumbling through your brain about whether or not Rise of the Planet of the Apes was going to be good or not, then this little teaser-trailer from Comic-Con should erase all of it…. the doubt, not your brain. It may show quite a bit more than you’d like, but it’s not that big of a spoiler about whether the apes rebel or not. They do.
The trailer was actually a little creepy at times, especially the ruthlessness at the very end of it. But that’s to be expected when any exotic animal rises up against mankind and takes up arms against him. Could you imagine Rise of the Planet of the Dogs? Man’s best friend turns against him. You may want to check into that Hollywood. Anyways, check out the trailer below:
See? Absolutely riveting. I have to see this movie when it comes out! The sequels would be even better so this thing better perform at the box office to the max!
It was bound to happen by the grace of God, we have the red band trailer for Kevin Smith’s movie Red State. We all know that Kevin Smith movies are practically meant for a redband trailer (cue the Jersey Girl needs a red band trailer to hide its stench from the general public jokes), but this seems to be a great use of it.
With Comic Con over the weekend there were a lot of new trailers released. Here are a few of those…
“In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time, but when a young man finds himself with more time than he can imagine, he must run from the corrupt police force to save his life.”
I think this actually looks really good. I was wondering how long it’d take Justin Timberlake to start doing action movies considering the void in decent male stars…
Release Date: October 28th, 2011
Like before with Timberlake, here is another pretty boy (Ryan Gosling) making a run at a legit action role, and seemingly – nailing it. If In Time looks good, this looks f**king great! I calling it – MUST SEE.
Release Date: September 16th, 2o11
