Superman Revealed: Henry Cavill In The Cape

Well it’s about damned time we finally get to see what our latest Man of Steel will look like when he debuts in the next Superman movie also titled the Man of Steel. I was wondering how Cavill would look in it or which direction they were going with the suit. I wasn’t worried about Cavill looking lame, but the suit was my main concern and it looks completely fine in the picture. Behold! And all hail IGN for the image! Not only does the suit look excellent, this picture looks extremely bad ass! I’m anticipating the hell out of this movie right about now with the cast they have lined up so they can release a trailer ASAP. Actually that’s not very realistic based on their anticipated release date of 2013. Not much is known about the plot other than Zod being in the movie as the villain, so hopefully with this picture out more is revealed soon! Let your voice be heard down below if you love or hate Supes new look! (Or lack there of!)

Friday Night Lights the TV show…the Movie…? Sure Why Not

Looks like we just cannot let you go Coach Taylor.

Several outlets, including IGN, EW.com, and E! Online are reporting that Peter Berg, director of the first Friday Night Lights movie and Executive Producer of the awesome just ended series is moving forward with a movie. While promoting his new series Prime Suspect, Berg says in regards to the FNL flick to E!Online, “We’re writing a script. We’ve been meeting with Jason Katims, the last couple of weeks. We have a real good script idea. We want to do it. We’re very serious about doing it and we intend to do it.” Jason Katims in case you forgot, was the showrunner of Friday Night Lights during it’s five season run on the peacock. More quotes? Okay, here Katims elaborating to EW.com, “It is something that we had talked about for a couple of years, almost in a half-kidding way. And then a few months ago, (exec producter) Brian Grazer and Pete called me saying they really wanted to do this. We had some meetings and we came up with a direction that we really loved. The trick was to figure out a way to both honor the series and not move away from that, but still find something that would be a satisfying movie in and of itself. It’s still very early — I’m just beginning to plot out the story for the script — but it’s something that we’re all excited about.”

Afro Samurai + Live Action Movie = Yet Another Terrible Decision…

Amongst my endless volumes of anime, I would definitely say that Afro Samurai is one of the best series I’ve had the pleasure of viewing. It is an incredibly deep story, accompanied by one of the best soundtracks in anime history.  So it was only natural that my heart broke when I heard that Samuel L. Jackson had teamed up with Gonzo Studios to create a live action film.

 Spoilers Ahead…

Afro Samurai revolves around a young samurai (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) who seeks revenge for death of his father, murdered by a lone gunman in the conquest for his father’s number one headband. Throughout his wanders in a futuristic feudal Japan, he is accompanied by an imaginary loud mouth Afro Ninja, and fights countless swordsmen/androids. Afro kills all who stand in his way until he achieves his ultimate goal of revenge.

But lets consider something, the original series consisted of five episodes, filled with constant character development, so its obvious that key plot elements will be axed during the writing process, leaving us with a potential Dragonball: Evolution. And when you aim a movie towards die hard fanboys, those are the type of things you can’t miss. Afro Samurai is perfect the way it is, a live action film will only drag the series down. The only redeeming quality is a potential RZA (original Wu-Tang Clan member) soundtrack.

Afro Samurai is now looking for a writer and cast to attach to this production, and it is due to start filming in 2012.

ESPN: The Movie

The ESPN tell-all book Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN has had the movie rights picked up by 21st Century Fox according to The Hollywood Reporter. Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick, whom I loved while they were on SportsCenter – but can’t stand since, took some time to discuss the possibility of the movie on Olbermann’s show. They also then go on to discuss who should play some of their former ESPN colleagues. Olbermann and Patrick also cast themselves.  Patrick gives himself Jason Bateman or Ryan Reynolds, and Olbermann throws up a picture of Josh Charles from Sports Night for himself, while Patrick says it should be Ben Affleck.

The Dark Knight Rises: Bane Costume Revealed!

Alright Nolan Bat-fanatics, here’s a great picture for ya! Tom Hardy as Bane! These were snapped in Pittsburgh during shooting in recent days and it finally gives us a full glimpse of the “Man Who Broke the Bat”!

Not too shabby. There were plenty of ways they could have messed up his look: By hiring Joel Schumaker to direct. I for one like the costume and just can’t effin’ wait for this movie, it’s gonna be epic!

“Bane will break this script! Oh wait it’s a picture of Harvey Dent.”

Stay tuned for a more detailed look in SupaScoot’s next Hero Express piece! Hopefully we’ll be getting a glimpse of Anne Hathaway in her Catwoman costume very soon.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Another AWESOME Trailer

If there were any doubts tumbling through your brain about whether or not Rise of the Planet of the Apes was going to be good or not, then this little teaser-trailer from Comic-Con should erase all of it…. the doubt, not your brain. It may show quite a bit more than you’d like, but it’s not that big of a spoiler about whether the apes rebel or not. They do.

The trailer was actually a little creepy at times, especially the ruthlessness at the very end of it. But that’s to be expected when any exotic animal rises up against mankind and takes up arms against him. Could you imagine Rise of the Planet of the Dogs? Man’s best friend turns against him. You may want to check into that Hollywood. Anyways, check out the trailer below:

See? Absolutely riveting. I have to see this movie when it comes out! The sequels would be even better so this thing better perform at the box office to the max!
