Mad Max: Fury Road – New Images

This article is a little late, but it means we have plenty of stuff to show you on the Mad Max film. If you would like to know more about back stories or previous news and information please check out the article below.

Mad Max 4: Fury Road – Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, and a New Car…

First off let’s talk about Charlize Theron showing off her shaved head; it’s not quite the transformation that we saw in Monster, but it shows she will give everything to a performance. In the new pic below, Theron, sports a buzz cut on the post-apocalyptic movie’s set in Namibia while cuddling Jackson, the adorable little boy she adopted earlier this year.

Next we have actual proof that it has begun production and most importantly is being filmed. With the large collection of images below which aren’t exactly revealing, but for now it will have to do.

Finally we now know that Mad Max: Fury Road will be a re-imagining of, not sequel or a prequel to, George Miller’s own 1979 cult classic with Hardy taking over the titular role made famous by Mel Gibson.

So what do you think? Do you like the idea of a retelling of the Mad Max story or do you prefer to keep the originals? Either way it is happening and I am happy to see it getting started.

‘RoboCop’ New Viral Campaign – The ED-209 is back!

‘OMNICORP, we’ve got the future under control’. That doesn’t sound suspicious at all.

This viral campaign which is one of many I am sure to be coming out during this Comic-Con has given us the OMNICORP mission statement and the OMNICORP advert to protect your city, which is a great bit of Robocop style TV. Here is the Ad below:

What did you think of the OMNICORP viral Ad? Well I think it is great because we get to see… well anything really keeps me happy, but it has something I was hoping they would have robotic ED-209. So now let’s talk about the ad, it has the smooth big defence company voice narration, the tech is looking very sharp and they give us a little sneaky in the shadows tease of RoboCop.

In true RoboCop style we have totally overkill military tech to protect us from criminals. Feel safer already.

Now we also have the OMNICORP mission statement, which came out with the Viral Ad.

For a half-century, these words have set the framework upon which OmniCorp has aimed to build a brighter world. We don’t do passive technology. At OmniCorp, our solutions generate a beacon of safety that we shine upon on the dangers of the day. No matter the obstacle – political, cultural, philosophical – we pursue our convictions around the globe to secure peace of mind at home. And when this requires bold new direction, we never allow doubt to shrink our duty. When your quality of life is in the balance, our leadership team will tip the scales.

Our products have elevated your lives. Our people have inspired your future. Our passion will always be at your side.

Don’t they sound like the good guys?

So finally what your thoughts? Do you think it’s looking great? Can you not wait until Comic-Con releases more viral goodies? Please comment below.

Grizzly Review: The Amazing Spider-Man

It has a few flaws, but for a first installment of the rebooted Spiderman franchise it is better than any of the original films, especially Spiderman 3! The characters especially where far better this time around with Andrew showing Toby how to play Peter Parker. I will be looking forward to the next films in this great new Spiderman reboot. But I would love to see flaws I found fixed, they are so small though that a sequel would be able to see and fix them.

The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr. Curt Connors (Ifans), his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

To start off let’s talk about the acting. The acting was very passionate which was a little surprising as it’s a super hero film, but you could really feel the emotional responses from its main characters (Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone) when various emotional scenes play out, beyond that would be a spoiler. Now for the main character who’s name I forget, nah only joking its Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) who I must say is the best interpretation of New York’s friendly neighbourhood Spiderman I have seen in a film. But as his competition is a cheap 80s film and Toby Maguire it was an easy win.

The best part about Garfield was that he looked and sounded the part, nerdy kid from Brooklyn. He was a teenager who had enormous power and treated it like a toy as you would. But my main compliment to this Peter Parker was that he made jokes even during battle’s which was always missing from the last Spider-man.

Sadly the thing many of us worried about was it feeling too soon for a reboot and it was lingering about. Mainly I would say in the origin of his powers but I don’t see how it could be avoided, at least with this film they tried to explain a very clever excuse for the radioactive spider what with using spider silk to create super strong cable.

Think I have talked enough about people and their silly human emotions. Now let’s talk about something more fun like the visuals. The special effects, physical props and visual landscape shots where excellent viewing as expected of a web slinger film. There’s nothing quite like being taken around New York through the eyes of Spiderman.

The lizard looked good and I am one those people who commented on him not having a snout but thinking about it now am not sure how they would get him to talk using a snout without it looking absolutely stupid, but at times the lizard looked more creepy than scary (Picture above for example). The best thing I felt about this films look was the way that the set of action scenes and spidey web slinging took place at night which was what Spiderman should be doing since he fights crime and it’s easier to keep a secret identity when you are fighting crime at night (don’t ask me how I know that).

My favorite scene without giving anything away would be the fight scene in the high school between the lizard and Spiderman, because it shows a great physical fight which plays with the effects and also shows a lot of the Spiderman humour whilst in the fight, which was never used in the original Spiderman. But of course this scene also includes my favorite Stan Lee cameo yet (you’ll see) The Avenger cameo was good this one is better.

What I liked about this films origin of the hero and the villain was that both a very much in development today, for example splicing technology used on the lizard has been in development a lot recent with plants to make super strong and big vegetables. Now another good point we see more spider-like creativity with Spiderman, this time for example in the pic above he sends out webbing in all directions and senses for vibrations much like a tarantula does to catch its prey plus he makes his own web shooters, I love clever stuff like that and it’s more true to the comics. Finally it’s a small flaw but it grinds my gear, why didn’t Uncle Ben state the legendary life lesson for Peter “With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility” to be far there was some variation of those words but I don’t see why they couldn’t just do the damn line! But finally it’s a good film with strong characters.

‘Taken 2’ International Trailer – First his daughter, now his wife!

Well we have a treat for you today. Taken 2 finally has a trailer and it is looking just as good as the first film. This international trailer is fantastic and I cannot wait until its October 5, 2012 release. Please enjoy.

Stop taking members of his family! It will be his mum in Taken 3, although I would watch anything with Liam Neeson in. So what we are getting from this trailer is that taken 2 is going to be business as usual, with great action scenes and on the phone warnings to his daughter/ threats to the kidnappers (to become endless meme’s).

Taken 3?

Plot

Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, a retired CIA operative who decimated an Albanian slave-trading ring to rescue his kidnapped daughter. A year later, on a trip to Istanbul, Mills gets a surprise visit from his daughter, Kim, and his wife, Lenore. The happy reunion turns sour when Lenore is taken by gangsters serving Murad, father of one of the fallen Albanian criminals. With his wife held hostage and Kim on the run, Mills must once again use his lethal skills to track down his wife and eliminate all who stand in his way.

We also have some great still photos to check out below.

So finally, what’s the verdict? Do you love the trailer? Can you not wait for Taken 2? Or is the idea of a second ruin the first? That last one is stupid because everyone loves the idea of Taken 2.

‘Dredd’ Full Trailer – “I’m The Law”

Wanted a trailer? “Well you got one now”.

Finally, Thanks to Lionsgate we get a full trailer of Dredd and it looks absolutely action packed. If you don’t want to buy a Dredd ticket after this trailer your mad and must be judged. Now as I promised yesterday the full Dredd Trailer, so please enjoy.

Update Official full HD

What did you think of the full trailer? Well I think it is action packed greatness, because we get a full trailer with more than 2 minutes, so plenty more than the preview. Now in just 10 seconds you can’t really get much of a feel, but with this trailer we know what’s going to be happening in the actual film. So what do we know from this trailer, well first off its most likely to be set mainly around that group of flats,  guns and more guns and plenty of cheesy lines being delivered in batman voice. But it wouldn’t be Dredd without them though.

Urban manages to provide Judge Dredd’s trademark characteristics with much better style than Stallone (thank god), and also delivers the signature line “I am the law” in a very cool non obvious way “Ma-ma isnt the law, I’m the law”. Not sure about Olivia Thirlby, but she seems to be able to kick some bad guy ass so we will have to wait and see.

Whilst where on the subject, Here’s some vehicle pics.

So finally what your thoughts? Do you think it looks great? Can you not wait until the 21st September? Or are you still not impressed? Please comment below.
