Here’s a question — do you really like The Walking Dead?
Do you really like Risk (the board game)? How about Monopoly?
If you would enjoy a classic board game injected with mindless, brain-sucking sensibilities, you’re in luck. Diamond, USAopoly and Skybound are joining together for Walking Dead-branded versions of Risk and Monopoly.

Now, we love The Walking Dead comics, and you know GrizzlyBomb lurrrves The Walking Dead TV show.
The best news regarding “RISK: The Walking Dead Survival Edition” is there’s no need to pronounce “Irkutsk.” And the game play seems interesting. The board is littered with defensible encampments straight from the show (check out the photo of the board below) and the teaser promises some mindless zombie WALKER action in addition to struggling with your human opponents.

“MONOPOLY: The Walking Dead Survival Edition” gives no indication of a Walking Dead-i-fied version of Mr. Monopoly, a.k.a. Rich Uncle Pennybags. Which is a shame; a Walker version would be keen, or, even better, a sheriff-hat, stump-hand version of that perpetually dapper little gent would be pretty neat. Alas, we’re thinking USAopoly’s license from Hasbro doesn’t cover using that most iconic of one-percenters. C’mon . . . Forbes has him as worth $2.5 billion in its “Fictional Fifteen” feature . . . we insist he deserves a little zombie justice.
Anyway, the game play in that one sounds a little more typical of a Monopoly game, perhaps. But the game pieces are pretty damned cool. Can’t believe they included Rick’s “I call dead people” telephone.

Both games are scheduled for a late-September 2013 release.
