Parks and Recreation Finale Has Two Endings!
If you don’t watch Parks and Recreation you’re a moron. The show is absolutely hilarious, and Amy Poehler is brilliant as the main character, Leslie Knope. The show is currently in its fourth season on NBC; and the story arc of the season has primarily revolved around Leslie’s campaign for city council. It’s been a rocky road on her way to election day, and the show’s writers have been extremely tight-lipped about what the outcome will be. So tight-lipped, in fact, that they made the decision to film two different finales: one in which Leslie wins the election and one in which she loses. It’s like they’re creating their very own ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ novel.

Fairy tales are certainly becoming all the rage these days. With TV shows like Once Upon a Time and Grimm, and 786 movies coming out about Snow White, it’s pretty clear that they’re becoming Hollywood’s new trend. Whatever keeps people from obsessing over sparkly vampires, I guess.

‘Game of Thrones’ Parody on ‘The Simpsons’ Made Our Faces Melt
The Simpsons has a long-standing tradition of great opening sequences, and last night’s did not disappoint. Instead of the normal introduction and clever couch gags, we are taken straight into a spoof of the opening sequence from HBO’s Game of Thrones. Instead of the lands and kingdoms in the HBO series, we are taken on an animated journey through Springfield; from Evergreen Terrace to “Burns Landing.” This is the point where you get so excited from the sheer combination of hilarity and awesomeness that you do an involuntary fist pump, and then your head explodes. Here at Grizzly Bomb, we are pretty unanimously huge fans of both The Simpsons and Game of Thrones. I can’t explain why, but Game of Thrones has one of the best opening sequences of any show out there. I think the music and the 3D map brings out the nerd in us. It’s so iconic and unique, that it made total sense for The Simpsons to do their own spin on it. Plus, I love it when Matt Groening and Co. give us something funny and topical in their parodies. Though they may not stand the test of time (Game of Thrones may not mean much to us in 10 years), it is still one of my favorite opening sequences to date.

It will have to tide us over until April 1 when season 2 premieres. I hope it includes more of Joffrey getting bitch-slapped.
Peter Jackson and His ‘Hobbit’ Video Blogs
Just watched another riveting behind the scenes video of The Hobbit franchise as Peter Jackson gave us his 6th installment, and the first we’ve seen in quite some time. After the longest 12 minutes I’ve experienced since right before I walked out of Star Wars: Episode One, I learned virtually nothing about the film, but a lot about New Zealand. Like they have thorn bushes. And floods. And everything is pretty. It kind of felt like I was watching a really boring old dude’s vacation with his family Dungeons and Dragons buddies.
