The Red Lantern Corps Is Coming…

I’m a huge fan of the Green Lantern comic series and everything involved in it. They really sucked me in with the War of Light and Blackest Night. Call me a relatively new Lantern fan, but I can’t imagine what it would be like without the other Lantern Corps of the emotional spectrum. The Sinestro Corps is undoubtedly hardcore, being the anti-thesis of the Green Lanterns. The Orange Lantern Corps under Larfleeze is a little weird, all of them being constructs that Larfleeze has consumed and used as his soldiers. But one of my favorites are the Red Lantern Corps under the leadership of Atrocitus.

New Trailer: ‘X-men: First Class’ (Again)

I swear if they would have just included everything from the teaser trailer, the first trailer and the international trailer I would have warmed up to this movie a lot quicker than I did. To say this movie now looks awesome is an understatement. Watch the trailer and let your words melt away into “oooooohs” and “aaaaaahs”:

Even though my first initial reaction was excitement, in retrospect I should be cautiously optimistic. As many of our brilliant readers know, many trailers are way better than their movies actually turn out to. Actually this happens more than half the time.

Something else to consider is how terrible nearly every Fox released comic movie has been over the years. The most recent Fox crapfest in comic movie history being Wolverine: Origins.

One thing is for sure: even with all of the coolness shown to us in the trailer, we haven’t seen everyone in full action mode. The glimpses we have seen of Havok and Banshee using their powers have been great, but we still haven’t seen Sebastian Shaw dealing out an ass whooping, or Emma Frost do much besides turn into her diamond form and have an awesome rack. All that remains now is to see the finished product, because one more trailer of this and we’ll have seen the entire movie.

Everyone please comment below and let us know what your anticipation level is for X-men: First Class. And if they decide to do a sequel, I want some freakin’ Sentinels!

Marvel Comic Review: Age of X Chapter 6

Chapter Six – New Mutants #24

Age of X has been a thoroughly enjoyable read. I’ve not picked up many X-Titles in quite awhile because nothing has really interested me since Messiah War or Second Coming. This arc, though not as in-depth as either of those arcs I mentioned above, was definitely a well crafted story that I don’t think anyone was able to piece together too quickly. I picked my brain apart and still couldn’t figure out what was happening until it was revealed to be Legion behind the whole Age of X universe and that none of it was real. It was something that he created, or at least one of the many personas he was creating and discarding during Dr. Nemesis’ work on his psyche.

Age of X Chapter 5 Review : X-men Legacy #247

X-men Legacy #247

Thankfully after the last chapter of Age of X, the story didn’t nosedive as I predicted it could. It finally revealed in this issue just what in the hell is going on in this strange world and also who is more than likely behind it. I still can’t figure out if everyone in the Age of X world is their counterpart in the real world or if they are entirely new characters, but either way the whole thing will get wrapped up in the next issue of New Mutants. For those of you wanting to spoiled, highlight everything after the word spoiler in the next paragraph.

Marvel Comic Reviews – Age of X: Chapters 3 & 4

The X-Men’s ‘Age of X’ continues in X-men: Legacy #246 and New Mutants #23.

X-Men: Legacy #246

The story continues with Rogue on the run to escape Fortress X. But to where? And hunted by the likes of Moonstar and Eclipse (Sunspot) what chance does she even stand of escaping?

She carries with her the puzzle of why Kitty Pryde had a camera with pictures of nothing on it, saying “he told me to take pictures” and why (Highlight to read spoiler) *Charles Xavier* has memories of everyone at the fortress when he has never met any of them. After Gambit begins to aid Rogue in her escape, Magneto calls off all his followers and takes matters into his own hands by dropping tons of rubble upon them while everyone watches, proclaiming that is what happens to traitors.

The issue ends with Wolverine (who is sympathetic to Rogue) talking to Basilisk/Cyclops about getting to the bottom of things. A menacing looking Basilisk agrees.

*Spoilers follow. BEWARE!*
