Written by Jose Prendes
Directed by Anthony C. Ferrante
Starring: Dee Wallace, Brent Lydic, and Stephanie Greco
In this modern retelling of the classic horror tale, teen siblings are enslaved by a psychotic recluse within her gruesome house of horrors in the woods.
Dee Wallace, a classic and modern day horror icon, declares dinner is served in this cannibalistic retelling of The Brothers Grimm’s: Hansel & Gretel. The trailer guides us through the dark recesses of the human psyche as our brother and sister protagonists mistakenly wander into Wallace’s kitchen of horrors.
Brent Lydic and Stephanie Greco star as Hansel and Gretel in Prendes and Ferrante’s dark version of the fairy tale siblings, a decidedly more horrific tale than the original. The retelling set to debut on January 8, 2013, just a few days prior to the January 13th release of Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Global Asylum had the great timing to draw some attention to their film – one that is sure to feature 90% less slow motion karate movies and beheading than the similar film starring The Avengers’ Jeremy Renner.
I’m excited to see these classic characters in a darker toned film. You have plenty of time to fatten yourself up before 1/8/13…
