We’ve seen and spoke a little bit about the next movie coming out from the DC Animated Collection, and I think it’s one most fans are very excited to see. Known as one of the greatest storylines in not just Batman, but comics altogether. It was a bit of a surprise that DC chose this as their next title to adapt, but it makes this fanboy very, very happy.
So while we’ve seen some screenshots and a sneak peak, and now this look at the Blu-Ray cover art, it wasn’t as much as most of us wanted. Well, we can relax and get a little more excited, as the first trailer has been released over at Splashpage. Check it out:
“Batman: Year One” focuses not just on Bruce Wayne’s beginnings as the Caped Crusader but also on many of the surrounding “Batman” characters we’ve grown to love over the years, including eventual Commissioner Jim Gordon, his partner Sarah Essen, and the stunning Selina Kyle.
“Batman: Year One,” starring Benjamin McKenzie as Bruce Wayne, Bryan Cranston as Jim Gordon, Eliza Dushku as Catwoman and Katee Sackhoff as Sarah Essen, will be available October 18, 2011 from Warner Home Video on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand and for download. It’ll also have its world premiere at this year’s Comic-Con on Friday (July 22) at 8:00 PM in Ballroom 20, followed by a panel discussion with cast and crew.
That was an awesome trailer, and it didn’t even show some of the really great parts of Year One, mainly Pre-Commissioner Gordon in one of his best storylines ever as well. Catwoman also gets her own short for the movie, which we talked about in the last edition of the Hero Express. I’m expecting a very faithful and hopefully entertaining adaptation which just might hold me down until The Dark Knight Rises. Maybe.
