Ghostbusters: Character Posters and New Villain Details Revealed!

We’ve been showing you new reveals from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly all week, from our first look at Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange to official images from Daredevil Season 2. Now we are gifted with another look at our new team of Ghostbusters from director Paul Feig.

While not much is revealed in the image, we do learn a bit more about what kinds of ghosts will need to be busted in the upcoming sequel, which you can check out after the jump.

The new image shows our Ghostbusters in action next to a downed fire truck, which hints at a powerful ghoul for the new team to face.

The article also reveals that on top of Rowan, the villainous role that Neil Casey will be portraying, we will be seeing a more New York-based enemy as well:

Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth.

This is a bit of a departure from the original films, which saw more cartoonish versions of the human ghosts and gave us creatures like Slimer to obsess over. We’ll have to wait and see just what kind of ghosts our new team will be taking on.

To tide us over until that time, we can check out some of these awesome character posters featuring the new team and their ghostbusting gear that were released fairly recently.

These posters continue to amp us up for the July 15th release. What do you think of the released images so far? Are you onboard with the new team or still missing the old one? Let us know in the comments section below or join the discussion on the Grizzlybomb Facebook page.
