Lawyer by day, vigilante by night.
Not only is Daredevil returning, but it looks like we’ll be heading back to Hell’s Kitchen sooner than anticipated. Originally, the assumption was that Daredevil’s second season would premiere sometime in April, much like the first season did. Then, a couple of days ago, we seemed to have “confirmation” that the show was coming on March 25th, pitted against Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now, with the release of this new teaser, it would seem the actual date is a week earlier; March 18, 2016. That’s only 10 weeks away!
As for the trailer, comic fans may get a familiar feel there from imagery compared to the books. Check it out…
So no new footage, or shots of Punisher and Elektra, but the stain glass theme is ripe in Daredevil mythology, and you could easily come to the conclusion that it’s Frank Castle shooting out all those windows at the end there, destroying all the Matt Murdock hold dear.
And the last shot sort of reminded me of Shadowland;
Netflix also released a season two synopsis:
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising in Hell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame – Elektra Natchios.
Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood. Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.
This is no doubt only the first of several trailers that will drop between now and March, and I would expect the next one to have some new footage, but for a teaser, this is about as good as you could ask for.
