The Conjuring 2 Trailer Has The Warrens Fighting An All New Horror

The trailer for The Conjuring 2 just landed online and it’s ready to scare you up all over again. Prepare yourself for an all new outing with the demon-fighting Warrens.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as real-life paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring 2, which takes the couple to London in the 1970s to investigate the Enfield Poltergeist. The sequel to the successful first film brings back director James Wan, who also wrote the screenplay with Carey Hayes, Chad Hayes and David Leslie Johnson.

The trailer was released via Wan’s official Facebook page, you can check it out below:

Wan has proven himself a skilled and versatile director of old-school horror cinema, which may have been one reason he was eager to change-up genres and take on a Furious 7 to massive fandom and global box-office dominance.

Set in 1977, Wan brings his attention to detail and period setting to light once again. Though he brought kinetic energy to the last Fast & Furious entry, there really isn’t anything like Wan taking total control of a single setting. His gliding camera and pension for a perfectly timed jump scare doesn’t diminish his overall film making confidence. Not to mention the nice little touches such as a roomful of crosses slowly turning upside down creates a perfect horror set-piece.

Joining Wilson and Farmiga for the second paranormal outing are Madison Wolfe (Joy), Frances O’ Connor (A.I.), Simon McBurney (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation) and Maria Doyle Kennedy (Orphan Black).

Here’s the slightly longer teaser from Wan’s Facebook page:
