#3 – Countdown to Halloween: SCREAM

As some of you may know, Wes Craven (Nightmare on Elm Street) is my favorite horror movie director of all time. In 1996, Craven directed a movie with a very different boogeyman.

PLOT: Scream is a movie about a masked killer and his victims. The movie begins with Casey Becker (Drew Barrymore) answering a phone call. On the other line a man asks her what her favorite scary movie is. She goes back and forth with the voice who eventually threatens the life of her and her boyfriend Steve. The killer has tied Steve up in Casey’s backyard. When Casey answers the killer’s trivia question about Friday the 13th incorrectly, Steve is murdered. After a struggle, Casey is also murdered and hung from a tree in her yard.

#5 – Countdown to Halloween: HOCUS POCUS

In 1993, Disney released a Halloween movie so fantastic, that every channel on TV plays it before Halloween. I am of course writing about Hocus Pocus.

The plot of this movie is very simple. There is a teenaged virgin named Max (Omri Katz) who moves from California to Salem, Massachusetts. He does not want to live there, and is less than a fan of Halloween as a celebration. His younger sister, however, loves it!

Dexter: Season 6, Episode 4 – “A Horse of a Different Color”

RECAP: This episode begins with Dexter attending Brother Sam’s baptism of Nick, one of his shop workers, at the beach. He has Harrison with him… who is adorable. Dexter gets a call from work to head to a crime scene.

In this crime scene, he sees that someone has put body parts together with mannequins and they are riding horses… the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. This is from the book of Revelations in the Bible. The new guy, Mike (Billy BrownLight’s Out), explains the links to the bible for the seven snakes and the four horsemen.

Dexter talks to Brother Sam when he brings his car back into the shop. He tells Sam a little bit about the case he is working on. Deb has psyched herself out about the press conference she has to do about the murders. She BOMBS the interview.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 Episode 2 “Bloodletting” Recap & Review

RECAP: In the beginning of the newest episode of The Walking Dead “Bloodletting”, it flashes back to before the outbreak. Rick has been shot in the line of duty, and Shane goes to tell Laurie. She is at Carl’s school and tells him about it when he gets out.

Flash Forward: Rick is carrying his son Carl and running, because as we know from the last episode, Carl has been shot. The man who accidentally shot Carl tells Rick to take him to Hershel and he will help his boy. This is the introduction of Hershel Greene and his family.

The group is still looking for Sophia, although at this point, they are all very worried. The group in the woods heard one single gunshot (the one that hit Carl), and do not yet know why it was fired. Meanwhile, back at the car, T-Dog needs antibiotics because he clearly has a bad infection. He sliced his skin wide open on a metal shard in the previous episode.

#10 – Countdown to Halloween: HALLOWEEN II (1981)

RECAP: Halloween II begins on the night of Halloween… beginning exactly where the original Halloween left off.

Michael is shot by Dr. Sam Loomis six times, and still somehow manages to get up and walk away, left to terrorize the neighborhood. He gets into a neighbor’s home, and steals a butcher knife, leaving behind only a sample of his blood.

He soon after uses that knife to kill an unsuspecting teenager who is home alone.

#13 – Countdown to Halloween: PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

In 2007, Paranormal Activity released in theaters. I saw this movie in the theater, and I loved it instantly. The realism of the movie was what attracted me. I love shows like “Ghost Hunters”. I have always believed in the Paranormal, and I get sucked into anything that revolves around the supernatural.
