Spider-Man: Homecoming Villains – Keaton’s Back In, D’Onofrio Rumored?

While I’m sure we all had a favorite scene from the recently released Captain America: Civil War, everyone can agree Tom Holland’s debut as the web-swinging Spider-Man was a shining moment. Not only was it great to see Spidey in the MCU for the first time, but this appearance also was a delightful treat for any fan of the classic Spidey so many of us grew up with.

Now, considering some of the rumors we’ve been hearing about Marvel/Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming, this isn’t the only treat for classic fans we’ll see. Most of what we know so far is unconfirmed rumors or fan-driven leaks, but we’ll cover some of these today.

Star Trek Beyond – New Trailer Provides Hope

Star Trek Beyond marks the third installment of the rebooted Trek timeline, and the newest trailer has some fans sighing in relief.

Depending on who you speak to, the 2009 reboot of the Star Trek film franchise, which saw the timeline altered, was either a fun, inclusive film, that brought a new, younger audience into the Trek fandom – or it was about the worst thing ever. Those who preached the latter were a group composed mostly of elitist, old school fans who felt betrayed by the faster-paced action flick, as though the studio was stealing something dear away from them.

This is seen as the muted response to Batman v. Superman versus the recent Captain America: Civil War buzz. While this news surely sparked a large “hallelujah” amongst many fans (guilty), we’re pretty sure that Johns’ indelible influence will be stamped on the movie franchises in the following questionable ways:

Marvel Enters Phase Three: The MCU Goes Infinite With Updated Film Slate

It may be part of Darth Disney’s plan to take over the world, but Marvel’s ever-expanding movie universe has taken audiences by storm (just not Johnny Storm).

Captain America: Civil War kicked off Phase Three with some impressive numbers the last two weekends, keeping the number one spot and showing that audiences are still symptom-free of what some are calling Superhero-Fatigue.

Obligatory Spoiler Warning

Yoga Hosers Trailer: Kevin Smith is Getting Weirder, And So Are His Films

“Two teenage yoga enthusiasts team up with a legendary man-hunter to battle with an ancient evil presence that is threatening their major party plans.”

I worked a lot of years behind a video store counter, and if you take the words “yoga enthusiasts” out of the above description, it could describe several 1980s genre movies. However, times have changed, and attaching Kevin Smith, Johnny Depp and a slew of other recognizable names to a project like this has drawn the ire of a lot of critics. For some, fond memories of Clerks and Chasing Amy now seem a lifetime ago, and plenty of once loyal Smith-fanatics are jumping ship. This movie isn’t likely to stop that exodus.
