Pulp Fiction in Chronological Order, Does It Really Make A Difference?

In 1994, Quentin Tarantino released a low-budget action pic, entitled Pulp Fiction. His second feature after Reservoir Dogs, this was the film that solidified Tarantino as the newest face of independent cinema. The most interesting part about it though, was besides including some of the best dialogue in a movie ever, as well as John Travolta’s career revitalizing role, the story is also told out-of-order. The movie is rather a series of connected vignettes as opposed to a linear story.

Die Hard 5: New Rumors About “John McClane Jr”

So last month we told you about the upcoming 5th installment of the Die Hard franchise – A Good Day to Die Hard, and we had some casting suggestions as to who we’d like to see play McClane’s son. Well now rumors are surfacing about the front-runners for said role, and they appear to have totally ignored me. But that’s fine, I’m gonna go opening night anyhow.

So here are, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the front-runners:

Die Hard 5, which is now called A Good Day to Die Hard, will attempt to find the young man to play Bruce Willis‘ son, with frontrunners Liam HemsworthAaron Paul, and Ben Foster among those who will take part in chemistry reads with Willis, reprising his role of John McClane, on November 12 and 13. (We¹re hearing the part of Hemsworth’s to lose.)

So, they think that Liam Hemsworth (Thor‘s little brother and upcoming star of the Hunger Games) has the role barring a terrible screen test. I have to say, that even though I didn’t name any of these guys on my list, I’d be fine with any of the 3. And while I’m pretty apathetic towards Hemsworth, I actually really like the other 2.

Aaron Paul of course is the co-star of AMC’s Breaking Bad, and I’m a big fan, but my pick of the 3 would be Foster.

Ben Foster, though starting out on the Disney Channel with Flash Forward, he went on to star in action movies like Hostage (with Bruce Willis) and The Mechanic (with Statham). He also has comic geek cred with his roles in The PunisherX-Men: The Last Stand, and 30 Days of Night

Sounds good to me!

#2 – Countdown to Halloween: THE SIXTH SENSE

In 1999, M. Night Shyamalan wrote and directed a horrific thriller called The Sixth Sense. This movie starred Bruce Willis and the used-to-be-popular Haley Joel Osment. Although I was only eleven at the time of this movie’s release, it was PG-13, and so I was allowed to see it. This movie scared the living shit out of me.

Die Hard 5: “A Good Day to Die Hard” Set for Valentine’s Day 2013

Speaking on the ‘Jim Rome Show’, FOX Executive Tom Rothman today broke some details about the newest chapter of the franchise. The 5th movie, titled A Good Day to Die Hard will follow John McClane to Russia to find his son – John McClane Jr. The casting of Junior is still in the air, but if this is done right, maybe it’s the start of whole new generation ass kicking.

Seeing as Die Hard is one of my favorite movies ever, and unlike most ‘Web Writers’ I loved the 4th movie as well, I am extremely excited for this. The big question – who should play Junior?

I’ll have a list of possibles shortly, who do you think should get it?

More News on THE EXPENDABLES 2 – Jet Li and Tom Arnold?

As my dear friend Darth Saeris informed us quite recently, Willis and Schwarzenegger are not only coming back for the Expendables sequel, but they are going to have much larger roles. He also told us that Jet Li would not be returning, and there were rumors that Donnie Yen (Ip Man) would replace him, but that now appears as though Jet Li might appear after all, just in a smaller capacity. And that’s good news. Not because I don’t like Yen, who I actually have the utmost respect for, but because – though sorely underused in the first movie – Li was my favorite character. In addition to Li, it seems Schwarzenegger’s True Lies co-star Tom Arnold might also be popping up, no doubt as comic relief. There is no conformation there yet, but Movieweb recently posted a video where Arnold says he was sent a script by Sly and wants to be involved. In addition to doing True Lies with Schwarzenegger, Arnold also worked with Jet Li before in Cradle 2 The Grave.

The basic plot is as follows:

Plot: After Tool (Mickey Rourke) is brutally murdered on a mission, his comrades swear to avenge him. They’re not the only ones who want blood. Tool’s beautiful young and wild daughter Fiona embarks on her own revenge mission, complicating matters when she is captured and ransomed by a ruthless dictator plotting to destroy a resistance movement. Now Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and the Expendables must risk everything to save her and humanity.

Van Damme is rumored to play a former colleague, who becomes the villain in the film. He’ll be completely covered in tattoos and have his own gang of mercenaries. Adkins is in talks to play one of the mercenaries.

The additions of Chuck Norris and Van Damme to the cast seem only logical. The big surprise is that they weren’t in the first one…

These are the animal handlers of the group. They are so gentle…

No word yet as to if Veronica Mars alum Cordelia Chase Charisma Carpenter will return. But my guess is no…
