Stop me if you’ve heard this before: rich corporate type takes to wearing a mask and fighting crime by night, accompanied by a sidekick. Okay, I’ve stopped. But how about this: the story is told using really interesting art (grey pencils, lots of shading) and from the point of view of the sidekick — who is not only more or less a grownup (early 20s, I’m thinking), but is a woman, and, so far, the position seems like more of a career position than the Batman-esque crime-fighting family dynamic.
What You Need to Know:
Schedule: Unclear, but there have been 11 updates
(10 comics and a cover) since April 11 — so pretty frequent!
The main character, Thrasher, is the reluctant assistant to Jackdaw and looking to get out, but during the very few pages published, hasn’t quite mustered the nerve. This promises to be a really solid “twist on the classic tropes” sort of story, and since it began a mere month ago, it’s easy to catch up.
