Hell Baby: New Trailer Shows Off Stellar Cast, Actually Looks Fun…

In a world where great horror comedies like Dale and Tucker vs Evil get overshadowed by garbage like Scary Movie 5, it’s the folks that brought us Reno 911 that give me hope. Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon wrote, directed, and starred in Hell Baby. The pair play exorcists sent by the Vatican to handle a demonic pregnancy, and the movie actually looks pretty damn funny. Aside from the two The State alums, the cast is packed with some of the funniest (if not well known) actors working today.

In the above picture (from EW obviously), along with Lennon and Garant we have (top left, across and down, like a typewriter) Rob Corrdy (Hot Tub Time Machine), Leslie Bibb (Kings), Paul Scheer (The League), Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital), Keegan Michael Key (Key and Peele), Riki Lindhome (Garfunkel and Oates), and I actually don’t recognize the dude with the beard. He’s probably awesome though. Also, not pictured, but the movie will feature Kumail Nanjiani (Franklin & Bash) as well. Anyhow, I love this cast.

Here is the SYNOPSIS:

[box_light]Rob Corddry and Leslie Bibb star in Hell Baby, a horror comedy about an expectant couple forced to enlist the help of the Vatican’s elite exorcism team after they move into a haunted fixer-upper in New Orleans. The hilariously zany feature directing debut of writing-acting duo Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, Hell Baby also stars Keegan Michael Key, Michael Ian Black, Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer. [/box_light]

What’s interesting is that this is gonna get an On-Demand release before it plays on the big screen, so about a month from now you’ll be able to stream it. Anyway, that’s enough talk, have a look at the trailer…

Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant as the priests look hilarious, that line about the harpie, gets me every time:
Hubble: “You guys get a lot of these?”

Garant: “You’d be surprised.”

Lennon: “Kinda.”
The movie first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 20th, it’s getting released on iTunes on July 25th, but won’t hit its actual theater release until September 6th, 2013 in the US. No UK release dates have been announced as of yet.
