Multiple Promos for Gotham: 2.03 – The Last Laugh

The sophomore season of Gotham has started off pretty strong, the show shifting a larger focus onto the city’s villains. In doing so, they have again proved just how inept most of the GCPD really is. Arkham escapes, police murdered, and the good guys apparently powerless to stop it all.

On the flip side, Gordon is climbing the ranks, with Leslie and Bullock at his side. Bruce and Alfred have discovered the bat-cave,  and Lucius Fox has been brought into the fold. And Harvey Dent is sure to be an asset in the coming months. All that said, it really is about the villains now.

The new super villain team is assembled by recent arrival Theo Galavan and his sister Tabitha. This team, pieced together from Arkham escapees (including Gordon’s ex-Barbara) has already seen most of its members slain, including Richard Sionis, the Black Mask. The guess is their crime spree will open some political door for Galavan, but specifics remain to be seen.

villains rise

Most notable among the team is ‘Jerome,’ whom they would have us believe is the Joker. Now if that is true, or if Cameron Monaghan is just a red herring, you have to admit – the kid can laugh. And the title of the next episode is The Last Laugh, which is rather close to the title of a very famous Joker story line from the comics.

Here’s the synopsis;

Gordon and Bullock track down a nemesis from the past, leading to a standoff between Jerome (guest-star Cameron Monaghan) and Gordon. Meanwhile, a magic show at the Gotham Children’s Hospital gala turns into a hostage situation in the all-new “Rise of the Villains: The Last Laugh” episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Oct. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (GTH-203) (TV-14 L, V)

So Gordon and Bullock will face off against Jerome just one episode after he murdered Sarah Essen (something that the Joker did in the comics). This should be interesting. Here’s the promo;

And if you want to see a little more, a couple longer bits have also been released. One featuring Lee meeting Bruce and Alfred,  and the second one with more of Jerome’s family interactions.

Gotham – The Last Laugh will air this upcoming Monday, should be a good one!
