The New Suicide Squad Trailer is Killer (Literally and Figuratively)

Gentlemen, Ladies – What if Superman had decided to fly down, rip off the roof of the White House, and grab the President right out of the oval office? Who would have stopped him?

So the only cool thing about the MTV awards nowadays is that they seem to be able to release new trailers and footage of upcoming, awesome movies. Suicide Squad got the spotlight this year and boy, did they really bring it.

While this explains a bit more of the plot, it also gives us some things that we wanted to see. A couple characters we get more of a look at are the Batman himself (who we only got a glimpse of in the first trailer), and El Diablo, played by Jay Hernandez. His elaborately tattooed face and fascination with fire were really all we’d really gotten to this point, but this new trailer gives us a pretty in-depth look at what his character is capable of (after some minor heating from Deadshot, Will Smith).

There is a bit more of all the characters and Harley Quinn seems like she’s going to be the star of the movie – until of course, the Joker, (Jared Leto) steps in. The Joker seems really bad ass as well, he’s got a sort of psychopathic gangster vibe that I’m really digging. I’m excited to see how this whole movie unfolds. Even with all this footage, I still am expecting some huge plot twists and character developments.

The greatest thing about the two Suicide Squad trailers, aside from the obvious, is the music. These two trailers really took the time to mesh clips of the movie with music. I really appreciate the subtle nuances and the care that this movie puts into anything it is associated with. It really gives me high hopes for the film in general and there is, so far, nothing at all to complain about.

Suicide Squad hits theaters this summer on August 5th. See you all there!
