Sean Bean is a Badass: Gets Stabbed in Bar Fight

Sean Bean, who was recently the star of HBO’s Game of Thrones has a long history of playing badass character. From Patriot Games to Lord of The Rings, Bean almost always plays an ass-kicker. Hell, he even held ‘Double 0’ status in GoldenEye as James Bond’s predecessor. Well it would now appear that those roles were perhaps well deserved.

Last night, 52 year old Bean, while out with 22 year old Playboy Bunny April Summers, got into a fight defending her honor. That’s Ned Stark Yo! Some loud mouth was walking by and recognized Summers, but didn’t see Sean Bean (aka 006: The Lord of Gondor). Bean got into his face and the would be tuff-guy (with 2 F’s) backed down. Like a bitch. And probably cried.

Later (and I assume after several more drinks) the A-Hole returned and sucker punched Bean in the eye. Because he’s a bitch. Then, with a broken bottle, he stabbed Mr. Bean (the serious one, not the funny one) in the arm.  Despite his wounds, Bean refused any medical attention and opted not to go to a hospital. Instead, the actor accepted a first aid kit from the bar staff, then ordered another drink.

Posters: Captain America, Avengers, & Cowboys & Aliens

Released today were a couple of Marvel Promo posters that feature a cool look at Captain America, and our first official look at The Avengers all together. There have been a few fan made posters released, but this is the first time it’s actually coming from Marvel. Now these are both hand drawn, so it’s not as epic as the team coming together for a photo shoot or anything, but still pretty cool.

WWE Monday Night Raw Review: June 13th 2011

Tonight is All Star Night! I don’t know what the hell that means except tonight’s Raw is three hours long! I’ll be your writer for the first hour of tonight’s broadcast, and Godzark will take it home with the last two.

After last week, Stone Cold Steve Austin is back for more as tonight’s Raw manager, and he comes out to stop one of those dime a dozen Miz rants just before I’m about to change the channel. He makes it clear to Miz that he’ll stomp the shit out of him if he doesn’t listen. Austin gives Miz his due and lets him know that him and Alex Riley will be getting some much-needed “therapy” right in the ring tonight… By Rowdy Roddy Piper in Piper’s Pit. If you don’t remember, that is Roddy Piper’s famous in the ring talk show. Note exhibit A below:

We can only hope he smashes someone in the face with a coconut. Miz leaves the ring and up pulls Alberto Del Rio with one of his beautiful cars. The scum bags are coming out of the woodwork for All Star Night! Del Rio babbles for a second about how gloriously awesome he is before Austin brings up the Big Show, and Del Rio’s monkey boy running his leg over with a car. He figures since Del Rio can’t fight Big Show, he can do the next best thing in a match with Show’s partner Kane right now. Unfortunately the match wasn’t very long at all. Kane had the upper hand most of the time, utilizing his brute force against Del Rio, but then our Mexican friend busts out crucifix armbar and doesn’t let go even after Kane grabs onto a rope. The ref calls the match as a disqualification and Del Rio still won’t let go, but then Big Show runs out…. yes he ran out on his leg that was run over by a car. Ok….

AMC Renews THE KILLING: Season 2 with even more Rain?

Despite an average viewer ship that is about half (2.2 million) of what the series premier pulled in (4.7 million), AMC has decided to order a 2nd season of The Killing, and I’m thrilled about it. While the viewer ship has dropped since the beginning of the season, it still averages more viewers than Breaking Bad, which is one of the best shows on TV.

The Killing is of course based on the Danish show Forbrydelsen. And Forbrydelsen also had a 2nd season. The way they did it there was that the show jumped forward 2 years and involved the complex murder of a lawyer.

I know a lot of people complained that the pacing on the show has been too slow, but I’ve really enjoyed it so far, and I look forward not only to Sunday’s finale, but to a follow-up season as well.

Movie Trailer Roundup: Lucky, Cowboys & Aliens, The Ward, And Soon The Darkness, and Warrior

This week’s Trailer Roundup features movies we’ve talked, as well as some we haven’t. Maybe you’ll see something that interests you…

LUCKY

Well, I’m not a big Colin Hanks fan (seriously – who is?) but this looks pretty watchable. Ari Graynor is his dream girl, and once he hits it big in the lotto, she agrees to marry him. She later finds out – he is a serial killer. And the winning ticket belonged to a victim…

George Bluth Jeffrey Tambor plays a detective investigating the disappearance of some of Hanks’ victims. I like dark comedy, and the early feedback on this is all positive. Also features Ann-MargretMimi Rogers, and Adam Harrington.

Release Date: July 15, 2011 (Limited – NY, LA)

COWBOYS AND ALIENS (Newest Trailer)

Cowboys & Aliens is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man) and the screenplay, based off a Graphic Novel by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, was adapted by Orci & Kurtzman (Star Trek).  The movie stars Daniel Craig as a memory-challenged cowboy with a mysterious weapon, in the middle of an apparent Alien invasion. His love interest is the always stunning Olivia Wilde, and the rest of the cast is populated with familiar names and faces. Most notably Harrison Ford, but also featuring Sam RockwellClancy Brown, and our friend Walton Goggins.

Release Date: July 29th

‘Daredevil’ Reboot Gets a Writer

So the other day I went on a little bit of a rant regarding reboots and my thoughts on their frequent use in Hollywood. So now I might be contradicting myself a little, but if there was ever a movie that desperately needed a reboot, it’s Daredevil.

When it first came out in 2003 I was excited to see one of my all time favorite superheroes brought to the big screen, despite Ben Affleck‘s casting as the titular character. And most (if not all) of the fanbase out there was were pretty disappointed at the stinker presented to us. Continue reading ‘Daredevil’ Reboot Gets a Writer
