Cha-Cha-Changes: Fan Compiles Changes to Original Star Wars Trilogy

As Shmi Skywalker once said, you can’t stop the change, and this has never been more true than when it comes to all the changes made to the masterpiece that is Star Wars. For years fans have stood helplessly by and watched their beloved film changed by the creator himself, and the balance of the force has been in turmoil ever since.

Perhaps J.J Abrams and his new vision will return balance to the series, only 140 days until we know, but until then let us reap the bounty of one fans diligence.

We all know Han was the one who shot first, despite one of the more controversial changes to the series, but what about the long list of other changes made to the original films? Marcelo Zuniga, whose YouTube channel reads “I just post Star Wars clips,” has taken up the challenge of compiling a side by side comparison of all the changes made to the original movies.

Zuniga’s work shows a strong dedication to preserving the glory of the original series, and is a great way to educate a generation who haven’t even had proper access to a decent copy of the originals, which were deemed obsolete by creator George Lucas. Young fans will be lining up to see Episode VII in a few short months, and should have their film history notes well in order.

Zuniga is not alone in his love of the unaltered. A million fan voices have been calling out for a decent copy of the original theatrical releases of the trilogy, which have only been answered with rumors that Disney, who now owns Lucasfilms, will someday answer the fans pleas.

Until then, enjoy Zuniga’s hard work. And May the Force be with you…Always.
