With Star Wars fervor at an all time high Halloween presents itself as the perfect opportunity to dress up as your favorite character. The best part? There are so many options out there to chose from.
Official Star Wars Costumes features a wide array of Star Wars costumes from all of the movies and more. All of their products are officially licensed by Lucasfilm and there are a slew of options for both kids and adults making it the ideal place to start looking. They even offer costumes for infants that will let your newborn take their figurative “first step into a larger world.”
They offer 2 sizes for most of their adult costumes for both men and women. In addition to those, there are a few plus sized options offered as well. Kind of a cool feature they have is that there are bundles that include solely the base costume or complete sets that come with the accessories for the character. That way you can buy a base costume and tweak it by buying different accessories, also conveniently found on the site.
If their standard costumes aren’t quite to your liking they also feature their supreme costumes that are clearly higher in quality compared to the standard costumes. Be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars for any of these options though. I have to admit, the Chewbacca costume is awfully tempting.
Overall the site is probably where you’ll find the easiest access to quality and cost-effective costumes, sans the supreme costumes of course. The only downside to the site is that presently there are some limitations as some costumes are currently out of stock due to high demand.
Another option is the Disney store as they naturally carry Star Wars costumes as well. The selection for adults is pretty limited only featuring Darth Vader, Princess Leia and an Imperial Stormtrooper. The kids selection has a few more options that range from the original trilogy to Captain Phasma, Rey, Kylo Ren and more from the upcoming release of The Force Awakens.
Entertainment Earth is another valuable resource for costumes that you’ll want to check out. They carry some really, really nice high quality costumes and accessories from Anovos Star Wars Costumes and Rubies Star Wars Costumes. A couple of the costumes featured are Darth Vader and Boba Fett.
In addition to the full costumes, they carry a wide array of helmets and lightsabers. Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma are among the helmets featured as are original trilogy favorites Darth Vader and Boba Fett. Some of the lightsabers featured largely belong to prequel characters such as Qui-Gon Jinn, Plo Koon and Mace Windu. They do have the more obscure Pre Vizsla Darksaber as well as newer fan favorite, Ahsoka Tano’s saber. It’s some really great stuff check it out!
If you’re the crafty sort and have the time, there are loads of tutorials out there for making your own Jedi or Sith costume as well. Check out some of these homemade Star Wars costumes, get creative with it and most importantly have fun!
