Andre The Giant Trailer: HBO’s Documentary On A Larger-Than-Life Figure

Born André René Roussimoff and coming in at 7-foot-4, 477-pounds, Andre the Giant was a man who was both literally and metaphorically larger than life. Now, HBO Sports, WWE and the Bill Simmons Media Group have released the trailer for Andre The Giant, a documentary film examining the life and career of one of the most beloved legends in WWF WWE history.

It features interviews with WWE figures such as CEO Vince McMahon, and wrestlers Jerry Lawler, Ric Flair, and Hulk Hogan, as well as insights from Billy Crystal and Cary Elwes, his co-stars in The Princess Bride. All of whom appear in this trailer (sans Elwes). The trailer was revealed after a 40-second teaser was released back in December.

He appeared in television sitcoms and films during the ’70s and ’80s, often playing himself or some variation of a human giant, and is remembered fondly for his role as Fezzik in Rob Reiner’s classic The Princess Bride.

The documentary provides never-before-seen footage and revealing interviews that offer up a comprehensive and intimate portrait of a legend. Not only do we get great insight into Andre the Giant’s wrestling career but his entertainment executives, athletes, media, family, friends, and associates bring us closer to the man he really was.
