But fear not, there is more!  I thought it was time we collected everything in one spot. If you can’t tell, I’m pretty excited for this movie. For almost my whole life I’ve wondered what was up with this dude – the space jockey from the original Alien film, now we’re gonna find out.

Let’s start with the videos. Here is one we haven’t posted before, part of their viral marketing.  In the same vein as the Peter Weyland video, this is more about the company and deals with the creation of androids, in the footsteps of Ian Holm and Lance Henriksen.

Next is the new UK Trailer, which takes a totally different approach from the American spots, and adds in some footage we’ve not see yet…

New Extended Trailer for ‘Prometheus’: Connection to ALIEN Now Undeniable

Despite Director Ridely Scott’s claims that his upcoming Prometheus is only vaguely related to his Sci-Fi/Horror classic Alien, the more footage that comes out, the clearer it becomes the films are unmistakably related. Last month we saw the clip of  Guy Pierce‘s character ‘Peter Weyland’ giving a speech and hinting towards the technology that would make possible the later space exploration. Now we have an extended look…

So, we have the music from the original, the ship from the original, the space jockey, LV-426, and the Weyland Company.

Yup, clearly not a prequel.

New Japanese Avengers Trailer Features Some Amazing New Footage! Plus New Character Posters!

Japanese trailers are generally awesome. Always complete with a kick ass voice over and epic sub titles, so why should the Japanese trailer for The Avengers be any different? The trailer was recently released, along with some new character posters. What should you expect from this trailer as opposed to the one we showed you not too long ago? How about your first real good look at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier? Or the first spoken lines from Hawkeye and Maria Hill? And an even better look at the mysterious alien race Loki enlists in his quest? How about a cameo from an Iron Man alumni? Yep, that’s all in there.

Fade Out: 25 of Hollywood’s Greatest ‘Closing Lines’ – THE SEQUEL

I have always found it fascinating how the last line in a movie usually helps me decide how I felt about it. For example, on my last list of the top 25 closing lines, Casablanca: “Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship”. After a sad moment in the movie, that line gave me a chuckle, and I took the DVD out of my player with a smile on my face. How a movie ends can either ruin the entire film, or make it ten times better. Since July 6th of 2011 when our last closing lines list was published, many readers have left comments about movies that were not mentioned, so we’ve decided to expand a bit. This is part deux of the list. Enjoy!

WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

Kris Grape’s ‘Space Geography’

Who is Kris Grape? He’s a man obsessed by caps lock and bad spelling; a man who has sent a vaguely threatening e-mail to Filmdrunk; a man who is making a low-budget, indie SF film entitled ‘Space Geography’. And it looks crap.

Here is Grape’s description of his film – from his crazed e-mail to Filmdrunk (and this is a direct quote – spelling mistakes and all – go to Filmdrunk to read all of the craziness) :

“MY MOVIE IS A SCI-FI EPIC WITH ROMANCE, THRILLS, AVCTION, AND HORROR.”

If the film does indeed contain any of these things it fails to show in the trailer. Especially the “AVCTION”. Words can not do the trailer justice. You should watch it. watch it and hope it never escapes, never mind gets released…take a look.

I have watched it several times. It doesn’t get any better. I like ‘bad’ movies, but I like them to have some sort of entertainment value – even if it’s just unintentional  humor. This would, probably, stop being funny really fast.

I have also – in the name of research (yes I did some research) – sat through several – mercifully short – effects test shorts on his Vimeo and Youtube pages. And all I can say is that if these are indicative of the effects to be used in this film…well it should be shot and put out of its misery – and then set on fire.

Grape is going to release another trailer for this horrific looking abomination soon – which may or may not be shown here. I’m guessing not though.

I am now going to drink large quantities of vodka in a vain attempt to erase this from my mind.
