As had been teased a few months back, Cartoon Network today announced that the Justice League is returning to the airwaves for an ongoing series Called Justice League Action. As if that wasn’t enough, the iconic voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy — who pioneered the role in Batman: The Animated Series — is back to do it again.
JLA, long a GrizzlyBomb and general fan favorite (here are some of our best picks from the last ongoing Justice League Animated series), there is one key difference known about this new show. Rather than the traditional 30-minute block, Justice League Action is going to be aired in the quarter-hour format that’s proven successful with many CN shows, such as Adventure Time and Regular Show.

This special LEGO animated special will be followed by the release of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham a month later. This year we saw no shortage of announcements from DC Entertainment, who shocked Comic Con by announcing a Man of Steel sequel to include Batman, as well as finally confirming the Flash and Justice League films. Knowing that their live action films are in the works, we also learned about the ongoing awesomeness that are the DC Animated Features.

Let’s get right to it. At Warner Bros.’s Comic Con panel today, the veil was lifted on major plans for the DC cinematic universe. Extremely major plans. WB is setting on the path to creating a DC Universe much like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with a Man of Steel sequel, a Flash movie, and perhaps the biggest news, firm confirmation of a Justice League movie.

Man of Steel has proven itself to be a commercial success, if not entirely a critical one. But to the eyes of the studios it did exactly what it set out to do, which is make money. The sequel was officially greenlit before the film even came out, and the future of DC’s Cinematic Universe began to develop.
We were already working under the assumption that the recently ‘confirmed’ Justice League was dependent on the success of Superman’s big reboot, and since that went swimmingly it’s time to start looking forward. While we would still have a few years to wait for Justice League, we can start casting our dream team right now!
