A few weeks ago we got what we thought was the absolute final trailer for Star Wars The Force Awakens, and it did not disappoint as evidenced by the millions upon millions of views it already has. Well, yesterday Star Wars fans received an unexpected treat with an international trailer showing us more new footage, mostly of scenes we’ve gotten glimpses of in other trailers, as well as some new dialogue…and it’s great. Maybe better than the aforementioned trailer released a few weeks ago. Take a look.
Disney and Lucasfilm continued their marketing barrage by releasing a series of character posters as we get closer and closer to the release of the Star Wars The Force Awakens. The posters feature characters new and old such as Rey, Finn, Kylo Ren, Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa. Take a look at the posters below.
Claudia Gray’s new young adult novel Star Wars: Lost Stars continues the Journey to Star Wars The Force Awakens that novels have been taking in the lead up to the film. And it’s a really, really engrossing story spanning about 20 years. The novel picks up 8 years after Revenge of the Sith and tells the tale of two children, Thane Kyrell and Cienna Ree from the planet Jelucan, who will go on to take place in many of the key events from the original trilogy of films.

It’s one of the most popular theories out there surrounding The Force Awakens, that Kylo Ren and Rey are brother and sister. More specifically that they are going to essentially be an adaptation of Jacen and Jaina Solo, Han and Leia’s twins from material that is no longer canon. Here’s why I don’t think it’s likely that they’re twins, much less siblings.
The full trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens made it’s worldwide debut during ESPN’s live coverage of Monday Night Football. This new trailer for the movie that will continue the Skywalker saga looks amazing. I mean, I can’t even…it’s just so good looking…why am I still talking, just watch the trailer:

Many fans will be pleased to hear that Admiral Ackbar will be making an appearance in The Force Awakens. His involvement in the continuation to the Star Wars saga had remained purely in the realm of speculation until actor and puppeteer Tim Rose confirmed in an interview with The Australian he will again suit up to play the character from 1983’s Return of the Jedi.
Canon; Essentially the events that unfold in any given tale that are part of the official storyline, whether that be a novel, a film, a video game, etc.
Now, many Star Wars fans rejoiced when news broke that Disney had acquired the rights to make more Star Wars films. It also crushed others. With the announcement that when Disney purchased the rights, also came the announcement that nearly everything the fans knew as the Star Wars Expanded Universe was essentially made non-canon and re-branded as Star Wars Legends. Some of you may fondly remember the novels in The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn or Drew Karpyshyn’s Darth Bane Trilogy. Maybe you played the video games like Shadows of the Empire or Knights of the Old Republic. All of those stories and maybe more importantly, the characters, that those games and books introduced into the Star Wars universe are no longer official and are only “real” from a certain point of view.
