Universal Has A Date For Their New Classic Monster Film

Universal has now set a release date of April 21, 2017 for an untitled Monster Franchise Film that will open in theaters the year after The Mummy property revival. This new Classic Monster Cinematic Universe is being overseen under the guidance of Alex Kurtzman and Chris Morgan.

Marvel: Exclusive Ant-Man, Avengers 2 & Agent Carter Footage Revealed

ABC put on a pretty awesome (yet albeit rushed and a bit too short for our tastes) Marvel Comics special. It gave newer fans of the comics/films/TV juggernaut a sixty-minute look into the humble beginnings and current-day run of Marvel. If you happened to stay until the very end of this quick documentary piece, you were lucky enough to see some exclusive scenes from two upcoming blockbuster films – 2015’s Ant-Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Steven Soderbergh Recut Raiders Of The Lost Ark As A Silent Movie

To show the importance of staging in filmmaking, director Steven Soderbergh reworks Steven Spielberg’s classic adventure Raiders of the Lost Ark into a moodily, affective black and white silent film. The film is essentially stripped of many surface elements to highlight the deeper ones (at least for Soderbergh). No more color or witty banter from Harrison Ford, and we lose John Williams iconic score. Soderbergh replaces all of the soundtrack with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ score from The Social Network, not to draw comparisons between the two films but rather to provide audible accents to the staging.

Comic Book Cinema: A Look At What’s Next For Marvel and DC (2015-2016)

“It’s a good time to be a comic fan.”

I find myself making the above statement more and more every month, but it’s the truth. There is no better time than now to love comics, because there are so many avenues available to enjoy the characters and stories. Great comics coming from great creators, a new era of fresh TV adaptations, and an unprecedented slate of films heading to the big screen are all a part of what make this a damn good time to be a Marvel and DC comic fan.
